The Jubilee® Clip - a worm drive hose clip - was invented in 1921, by ex Royal Naval Commander Lumley Robinson and, is now a registered trademark of L Robinson & Co (Gillingham) Ltd.
During his time in the navy, it had become apparent to Lumley that a new method was needed for attaching a hose to a pipe. Upon leaving the navy, Lumley committed much of his time and efforts searching for a simple and effective solution to the problem. By 1923 Commander Robinson had not only established Jubilee® in the UK, but had also started exporting his revolutionary product to Holland; before passing away in 1939.
In 1982 Jubilee® Clips Deutschland GmbH was established; the Group’s first overseas venture which continues to be a success - selling Jubilee products in Germany and mainland Europe.
More recently, in 2007, the company relocated so that for the first time since 1921 all functions of the group were performed under one roof; manufacturing, distribution and offices all consolidated in one convenient location in Gillingham.
Today there are many other manufacturers of hose clips and clamping materials; some with a similar design, but, Jubilee® is still the finest. The company has not only built a name for quality products and guaranteed reliability; it sets the standard to which competitors aspire in terms of value and service.

- Jubilee Clipdriver®: Rapid easy adjustment of Jubilee clips is made possible with our Clipdriver range. The Clipdriver is available with 95mm and 160mm rigid shafts and are high quality precision products incorporating a 7mm A/F socket head specifically designed for Jubilee hose clips.

With over 80 years experience, Jubilee® is proud to be regarded as the benchmark for quality in the market for hose clips. The company aims to ensure that all worm driven hose clips carrying the Jubilee® brand are the finest in the world. This goal is only achieved through rigorous adherence to quality control procedures; from raw material to finished product, all product ranges are systematically checked to ensure they are manufactured to the very highest standards, using only premium grade materials. All Jubilee® products conform to the latest EU Directives and over the years, they have proven to be safe, durable and capable in combating extreme clamping conditions; exceeding the demands of BSI in all areas.
The company’s dedication to quality was demonstrated when, in 1963, it assisted in forming the first British Standard for worm drive hose clips (BS 3628) and the subsequent move to the metric Standard (BS 5315). The high quality of Jubilee® was again recognised in 1987 when it was one of the first companies to be awarded BS 5750 for its production system.
Today, the company’s manufacturing process is rated to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and covers products produced to national, international and individual customer requirements. This, together with approval by MOD, Lloyd''s Register and many others, is testimony to the continued commitment of Jubilee® to quality of product and service.
